Hawaiian Walkways Kona Cloud Forest Botanical Walk
Hawaiian Walkways is a charter member of the Hawaii Eco-Tourism Association, and
received the "Tour Operators of the Year" Award in 2002.
A surprisingly short distance from busy Kailua-Kona is a flourishing forest on the slopes
of the sleeping volcano called Hualalai. There we find a personal and extraordinary
sanctuary that nurtures birds, plants, and the human spirit with its peaceful
isolation. Engaging information is presented about the geographic context and the wide-range of plants. Moving quietly through native forest, and among palms, tree ferns,
bamboo and blossoms from around the world, your senses are soothed by the cool air,
the songs of birds and the thousand shades of green the forest displays. Many comment on the calm and peaceful feeling this environment stimulates.

Inclusions Light backpacks, Walking Sticks, Rain Wear, Food and Beverages (Deli-Style lunch, Cookies, Macadamia Nuts, Juice/Soda, and Bottled Water). Naturalist Guide Services at the ratio of one guide per ten hikers. NOTE: The footing on hardened lava is uneven and rocky. Closed-toed shoes are required. Hikers need to be prepared for sun (with sunglasses, sunscreen, and a sun hat) and for chilly, perhaps misty weather (with a light jacket or sweatshirt).
