Discover stand-up paddleboarding in the sheltered waters of Reeds Bay, one of Hilo's most comfortable places for beginners. During this one-hour lesson, you will learn the essential skills needed to feel steady and confident on the board.

The lesson begins on shore with guidance on safety, balance, proper paddling form and steering. Once you enter the water, your instructor will help you practice each technique at an easy pace. Paddle along the Banyan Drive shoreline while enjoying peaceful bay views and hearing a few stories about the history of the area.

Minimum age: 8 years
Minors under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
Lesson is not suitable for pregnant women, persons over 300 lbs (136 kg), those with back problems, or who cannot swim.
All lessons start promptly at the specified time. Lessons will not be delayed for late arrivals and missed lessons will not be eligible for a refund.
Conditions in the bay are usually calm, though light wind, small waves, or ocean movement may occasionally be present.
